What happens to corrections

A correction is checked against the composed source record and the cited paper metadata. If the wording overstates a study, the claim is narrowed. If a citation points to the wrong result, the trail is repaired. If a new paper changes evidence maturity, it belongs in a future sourced update rather than an unsupported add-on.

General feedback on clarity is also useful, especially when a technical term appears before its plain-English meaning. Replies are not guaranteed, but specific evidence-based notes are easier to evaluate. No sensitive health information is needed or requested for editorial correspondence.

For metadata problems, a note may include a corrected author name, title, journal field or persistent link. For content problems, the strongest report explains whether the sentence confuses an animal model with a human result, treats an association as cause or omits a meaningful limitation. Those details help the desk correct the record rather than merely swap wording.
